True teachers are those who use themselves as bridges over which they invite their students to cross; then, having facilitated their crossing, joyfully collapse, encouraging them to create their own.

Running River School is an independent and nonprofit grade school initiative inspired by Waldorf education, located in Sedona, Arizona. For the 2018/19 school year we will be serving 1st through 6th grade in three classrooms (1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, and 5th/6th).
With our desire to continue building upon the Waldorf foundation given to us by our beloved sister school, Sedona Children's Garden, (a Pre-K school with a 30-year history in Sedona), our school arose from a small group of devoted parent's desire for their children to continue on this nurturing path.
Our ongoing work gives us the opportunity to cooperatively create a place where the school community works together to offer children a hands-on, holistic and integrative educational opportunity; commonly referred to as the "whole child approach" serving the "head, hands and heart" of each individual child in a developmentally-appropriate model.
